About these Sefarim

These Sefarim do not merely teach Hilchos Shabbos and Hilchos Yom Tov, but detail the Mesora and process of Halacha. There are many excellent contemporary works that teach what one may or may not do on Shabbos or Yom Tov. These Sefarim explore why this is the Halacha and how it developed over millennia. The reader is encouraged to study through the Sugya rather than just read the conclusion, and to learn the Mareh Mekomos - the original sources - themselves.

Many of the works of the greatest Rishonim and Acharonim are often deemed inaccessible for all but the most advanced Talmidei Chachamim. By extracting relevant passages, these Sefarim present the words of R’ Akiva Eiger, R’ Moshe Feinstein, R’ Ovadia Yosef, and so many other Gedolim in an accessible format, complete with Nikud.

You have clearly invested many years in producing this work which examines practical aspects of the Shabbos laws in the English language to enable English readers to understand and appreciate these laws in a clear and simple way. This will thereby enhance their knowledge, understanding and observance of the Shabbos laws. Additionally, you have provided Hebrew sources which will enable the interested student to study these laws in greater depth and to examine the background and rationale of the rulings in this Sefer.

This is full of practical questions of Shabbos observance which have been asked by a number of different people.. the kind of issues that people often encounter. The answers have been researched meticulously and the various opinions presented clearly and in an easy to read manner, each with a conclusion. Hebrew sources are all given in detail for anyone wishing to look up more detail on individual opinions.
For the layman like myself, this is not only a practical resource to turn to when I have a question and an education in Shabbos halacha, but also and education in the system by which the halacha is arrived at..
